Most people think about the front face of a business card while designing a suitable card for themselves. They don’t know the utility and prestige of the backside of the business card as well. A good designer would aptly use both sides of a business card to publicize the most relevant strong points of a product or a service that is offered by the company.

The Front Side of the Card

When exchanging cards at a seminar, people present it in a way so that the receiver sees the front side of the card. This side usually has the name, designation, company name, contact numbers, addresses, etc.

How about having the product names, Unique Selling Propositions (USP) of the company in this side as well? It would surely look very cramped and thus, unwanted. A careful look can make thinks work well for those who plan to say a lot of things when presenting a business card.

For instance, what do people do when they receive the card? They place it in card holders or cases which hold cards. In both options, it is possible for the person to take a look at both sides of the cards.

The Back Side of the Card

The back side of the card usually has the product names, logos, slogans, selling propositions, schemes or anything thing special about the company. The entire content can be written in bulleted points or designed in a charming way to attract the reader.

Surveys suggest that business cards with content and graphic on both sides are far more appealing and popular in the business world. In fact, many entrepreneurs like keeping double sided cards as these are far more valuable to them.

A lot of information, promotional items, schemes, etc can be illustrated carefully in the back-side of the card.

Turning the Business Card

It is equally important, however to make sure that readers turn over the business card to take a look at the content written in it. Although, a pragmatic entrepreneur would never fail to flip over the card to see if there is anything special for him, it is a good business practice to ensure that all receivers do turn over the card.

The most common way to ensure this little task is to write: “Please turn over” or “P.T.O.”. But, an enterprising sense would work wonders for many business people. For instance, “Turn over to see the special Bonanza offered by us”, is a unique way to request a receiver to flip the card.

Coupons, Offers, Punch Cards

Although the front side of a business card mainly caters to the contact information, the back side can be as important and alluring as the front side with options that offer coupon facilities, offers, gift hampers, etc.

The cards can also be punch cards, forms, survey lists, URLs, etc. In a nutshell therefore, the scope of designing the back side of the card is immense.

Today, double-sided business cards increase sales prospects immensely. These cards are one of the most popular and effective business cards in the market. Even though some people intend to introduce themselves or provide their contact references through a card, they provide a lot more. A double-sided business card is the best way to show how this is possible.
